I decided to take my son (he’s 12) to SportsClips to get a nice cut before his big soccer tournament in San Diego this coming weekend. Unfortunately, I left the salon feeling completely disappointed. First off, the stylist didn’t even attempt to ask me or my husband what service we wanted to pay for, but instead asked my son if he wanted a massage and shampoo upgrade. She also never thought to confirm with me regarding the type of cut he was looking for. I finally gave up waiting for her to ask and decided to walk back to where my son was. I explained that the top section of his hair, which I was holding up to show her, needed a significant trim because it was poofy and flopping over. She assured me that would be taken care of. It was not. Even after she finished the cut, I voiced my concern that it was still way to long and she assured me, again, that she had textured it...she did not. I know this because that same chunk of hair is still poofy and flopping over just as it was when we walked in. Long story short, I just paid $30 (?) for a $17 cut, $5 tip, and mandatory $1donation (?), that I am now going to have to fix on my own. So frustrating.
